Samsung’s Galaxy Fold 2 will most likely have UTG display

A month ago information regarding the Samsung Universe Fold 2 has leaked meaning that that it would use an entirely more display technology. In fact , since the cell is already in development, the company has recently ordered a substantial amount. Now a EUIPO (European Intellectual Property Office) offizierspatent from Samsung confirms the company’s tactics.

Samsung's Universe Fold 2 will most likely use UTG display

The new flexible finish is called UTG – from Ultra-Thin Glass. It can be applied to all sorts of merchandise and types of displays but today we suspect the main use case will probably be smartphones. The upcoming Galaxy Fold the 2 next year is said to perform the UTG layer, which would connect some of the issues the original Fold had, namely the durability.

The UTG display would be more resistant to nothing, since it’s technically glass, as well as the won’t need an additional protective level on top. It’s estimated to be have thin as 30µm (as trim as human hair) going up so that you 100µm.

There are some caveats, of course. The UTG screen is hard to produce and very costly at the moment, although rumors suggest that the phone will cost less than the original Fold. It could probably compete with Motorola’s Razr 2019 .

Control, one of the best games of 2019, is back down to $25 at GameStop today

Control Image: Remedy Entertainment

Control is a stylish, cerebral, and just plain fun third-person shooter in which you gain telekinetic powers. If you like good games, it’s easy enough to recommend it at its full cost, but I don’t have to do that today since it’s just $25 at GameStop. This deal is for today only, and it applies to both the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game; the PC version is an Epic Game Store exclusive.

This price matches a deal we saw during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so now is your chance to get the game if you missed out before. GameStop’s deal is available in its stores around the country as well as online.

My colleague Andrew Webster reviewed Control earlier this year, calling it “an excellent supernatural thriller with hints of Metroid”….

Personal Print — Automated personalized Thank-You notes for Shopify

Hello Product hunters! I’m Charles, co-founder of Personal Print. We are very excited to launch here on product hunt! Personal Print has one main goal: make your customers come back to your store. We know for a fact that for 75% of online stores, 9 customers out of 10 NEVER purchase again. Yet they keep spending money online on similar products. Most of the time, brand memorization is at fault. Personal-print is here to enhance brand presence at the moment when customers are the most receptive: unboxing. Partner stores testing it with us have seen up to 3’600 organic publications of their thank-you notes on Instagram in just 12 months, generating considerable word-of-mouth referrals. Here are some of our features which will help you create a unique unboxing experience for your customers: – A library of beautiful templates
– A drag and drop tool to build your own Thank-You notes in a few clicks
– The usual Shopify liquid tags to build personalized notes
– A smart algorithm which recognizes returning customers and matches the right message depending on their order number (for example thank them at their first order, tell them about your brand at their second, give them a discount at their third)
– Personalized discount codes to the first name of each customer (i.e. “20off-for-John-123” ) can be printed on each card, with a time limit to redeem. – One click fulfillment, batch print from the order page
– No special printer required I would be happy to answer your questions and get some feedback!

How to turn your iPhone’s location tracking on or off

Photo by Amelia Holowaty Krales / The Verge

Your iPhone uses information from your cell service, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS to pinpoint its location, and since you almost always have your phone on you, your location as well. That information can be useful for a lot of things, such as letting others know where you are or finding your phone when it’s lost. Other times, it’s just more information that services and companies collect about you, creating privacy concerns.

The good news is you can tighten your controls so that apps are only accessing your location when it’s necessary.

Toggling your location settings differs from phone to phone, depending on what model of iPhone you have and what version of iOS it’s running. For example, there have been issues with restricting the iPhone…

The Expense Calculator — Quickly calculate how much expense claims cost your business

Thanks for sharing Kevin! Hi everyone. Hopefully the “how” and “why” for this product are pretty clear: business owners (and especially startup owners) often have no real idea how much their teams spend in an average month. This calculator helps them figure it out. But more importantly (from our perspective), it also highlights all of the hidden costs that come through admin and user error. We’re pretty convinced that expense reports are AWFUL, and this calculator helps to make that clear. Anyway, keen to hear your thoughts!

The mind-bending confusion of ‘hammer on a bed’ shows computer vision is far from solved

Six example images that fool AI from the ObjectNet dataset. | Image: MIT

Machine vision has been one of the biggest success stories of the AI boom, enabling everything from automated medical scans to self-driving cars. But while the accuracy of all-seeing algorithms has improved massively, these systems can still be confused by images that humans have no problem deciphering.

Just look at the collage at the top of this story. None of these pictures are particularly confusing, right? You can see hammers, oven gloves, and although the top middle image is a bit tricky to decipher, it doesn’t take long to work out it’s a chair viewed from above. A cutting-edge machine vision algorithm, meanwhile, would probably only identify one or two of these objects. That’s a huge downgrade for systems that are supposed to…
